Andhra School Of Preaching News Letter
Members at Rock Hill have been involved in India evangelism and preacher training since 1994. We began by assisting one of our members (Burley Stinnett) in mission trips to India. In 1995 we began supporting one Indian preacher. From 1994 - 1998 we sent local
Frisco brothers to preach and teach in India. We began training preachers in 1998. In 2006 we initiated a testing program for men receiving support. The exam (in several forms) has been given 3 times since February 2006. Every man supported by Rock Hill has
scored 80% or higher on the exam.
We currently provide meeting (campaign) funds for 475 preachers. Most of these preachers receive $10 - $15 per month with some receiving $23 per month. The work is primarily funded by the Rock Hill church and members. We provide 68% of the budget with several other churches, funds, and individuals involved in giving funds for this work.
Our work is unique in that 100% of funds given to the work are spent in India. Every penny contributed goes to India. The funds are spent on preacher training (translation work, printing, classes and school), preacher support (7 men), campaign funds (468 men), bicycles, occasional Bible and or New Testament purchases, and a small amount on emergency medical aid to preachers and their families. Our current budget calls for expenditures in 2007 to be in excess of $85,000.00.
We have translated several excellent books into the Telugu language as part of our preacher training. We are currently having a small concordance translated as a resource for Telugu speaking preachers. There is no Telugu concordance and this will be a great help to preachers and Christians in India.
Rock Hill provides the funds for two trips each year by Rock Hill teams to visit the churches, to teach and train preachers, and to do evangelistic work. No American receives any remuneration for his involvement in this work.
One hundred percent (100%) of all contributions to this work, whether large or small, are expended in India to train preachers and support evangelism. This includes translating and providing books and materials to assist the preachers in India. Rock Hill provides all overhead expenses from our general fund.
In 2008 we will resume our preacher-training program with some 100+ weekly classes throughout Andhra Pradesh. An exam is scheduled for November 2007 to identify the men most qualified to each these classes.
Two things make our work unique. One, every penny (100%) contributed goes to India for training or evangelism. Two, every man being supported has exhibited his knowledge level by scoring at least 80% on our required exam. We know of no other mission effort that “tests” the knowledge of the men supported and expends 100% of contributions in the field.
We send a monthly newsletter to friends and supporters of this work. Anyone wishing to receive a copy should email us that request. The latest copy of the newsletter can be found on this website.
Questions or comments concerning our work in India are most welcome.

TSUNAMI RELIEF and GOSPEL MEETINGS
Charles Haley, Burley Stinnett, and Eric Ballou went to India on February 16, 2005 to oversee the
disbursement of the funds given for tsunami relief. The major portion of funds were used to
repair or build some 34 prayer sheds that had either been damaged or destroyed. They also
purchased some 48 fishing nets to replace some of those damaged in the storm. These nets
were provided to Christian brothers who had lost their method of livelihood. Charles Haley
returned on Friday, February 25. Burley and Eric remained until Sunday, March 6 conducting
meetings and teaching. Some 1,941 baptisms were reported during this trip. Thanks to all who
gave so liberally to assist in tsunami relief.

PREACHER TRAINING
We currently have over 2,900 preachers studying “The Church of Christ” in a three month course.
There are 138 classes meeting each week in Andhra Pradesh. They are using Ed Wharton’s book
“The Church of Christ” as the basis of this study. Translation and printing of the book in
the Telugu language was completed in December 2004.
